Spoof Timezone Extension – Setup Guide for Comfac Staff
This guide explains how to configure the Spoof Timezone extension in LibreWolf/Firefox so staff can maintain privacy protection while ensuring Nextcloud, Mailcow, and other Comfac tools display correct timestamps.
Use this setup if you rely on privacy extensions that hide your timezone, but still need accurate time and calendar functionality on Comfac systems.
1. Open the Spoof Timezone Extension Settings
Paste the following into your browser address bar:
moz-extension://e2416390-3967-4dec-9c8b-36eacabf59ce/data/options/index.html
(If this link changes on another device, open Extensions → Spoof Timezone → Options.)
2. Confirm Your Real Timezone
Under Timezone, set:
Asia/Manila (GMT+8)
Make sure both the dropdown and the text field show Asia/Manila.
Leave the following unchecked:
- Automatically update timezone based on my IP address
- Pick a random time zone
3. Do NOT Change “Protection Scope”
Keep the default:
*://*/*
This means the extension protects every website except those you explicitly whitelist.
No need to modify this section.
4. Add Comfac Services to the Whitelist
In the Whitelisted Sites box, add the following entries one per line:
*://challenges.cloudflare.com/*, *://mail.comfac-it.com/*, *://next.comfaccorp.com/*
What Whitelisting Does
Whitelisting a site tells the extension:
"Do NOT spoof the timezone for this domain. Use the real timezone."
This is required for:
- Correct email timestamps (Mailcow)
- Correct event times & reminders (Nextcloud Calendar)
- Correct file edit timestamps
5. Save Your Settings
Click Save Options at the bottom.
Refresh any open Comfac tabs.
6. When to Use This Setup
Staff should follow this guide if they:
- Use LibreWolf or Firefox hardened with privacy extensions
- Use Nextcloud calendar, tasks, files, or Mailcow webmail
- Want privacy protection without breaking time-sensitive tools
If you encounter incorrect times in calendar or email, re-check the whitelist list.
